Selection Collages

This was the collage we were asked to do with the images provided to us. I think I got pretty close to the actual image, with the selections being clean, but I screwed up the image quality a bit by resizing what I already had selected.

My first collage. Tried to make a poster or box art for Metal Gear Solid V. The two main images of Snake came from the Youtube trailer for the game, where I paused on the right frames, and selected their heads using the feather tool. The images of them men on the left and right are from a screenshot and an action figure respectively. The action figure was of good enough quality that when covering up the movable joints, it just looks like another screenshot from the game.

For this one I made another poster for a game. Still working with figuring out how to make feathering look nice, and thought the faded outline on the guy in the back helped make him look even more mysterious and evil.

Last game poster. Was messing with the feathering on link and thought it looked nice when placed in front of the game’s villain, Ganondorf.

Of the three posters, I definitely think the first one was my best, but they all helped me get the hang of selecting and feathering.

Altered Self-Portraits

For the first one I knew I wanted to do something video game related so I messed around with filters and masks until I found something that looked cool. A pixelated image with a mix of glitch-y colors looked like what I wanted.

The second one I was messing around with the liquify tool and just created nonsense. Look at those eyes! After I was done laughing, the eyes got me thinking of TV, so I messed with filters until I found something that resembled the look of an old school CRT television set.

The third image I wanted something minimalist and honestly just thought the background coming through being a single light in the dark looked cool.
